AJAX has been hyped as a core revolution in Web 2.0 for a few years. Yet it is not obvious to the rest of us how and why it is so important to the web revolution. Until I read this book now: Ajax in 10 Minutes by Phil Ballard.
This is becoming very interesting because you can find a local Java AJAX server embedded in “iceScrum” package. Using the same technology, applications can be developed for both local and web-based users. That is all kinds of applications! Will this be another next big thing? Can you list the areas that could be touched?
More to come after some more reading…
Update May 18: I wrote up an article of the first AJAX example.
